Myristin® Vegetable Source capsules were developed by EHP Products with a focus on finding a way to provide cetyl myristoleate (CMO) in a bona fide vegetable format. EHP is very pleased to present Myristin® Veg Source capsules for the use of its customers who are vegans or vegetarians or who have other reasons for desiring a vegetable source of CMO.
Myristin® Veg Source capsules are 675 mg in contents weight. 378 mg of each capsule are cetylated fatty acids containing 17.8% CMO; 297 mg of each capsule are olive oil, for a total of 675 mg. Thus, each capsule yields 67.3 mg of CMO. The purpose of the olive oil is to mix the cetylated fatty acids into a bio-available mass for insertion into a cellulose fiber capsule shell, thereby producing a 100% vegetable CMO capsule product.
Myristin® Veg Source capsules are used as a dietary supplement for four months to provide an initial loading amount of CMO. The longer period of time compared to the regimen for Myristin® softgels is due to the vegetable source product having less CMO per capsule than the softgels. More capsules and a longer period of use are required for the Myristin® Veg Source product to provide the necessary initial loading amount.
Use of Myristin® Vegetable Source as a Dietary Supplement
Six Myristin® Veg Source capsules are taken daily with water on an empty stomach about 30-45 minutes before meals, or just before meals if that fits your daily schedule better. However, it is fine to take Myristin® Veg Source after meals if you wish.
If taking the lunch time Myristin® Veg Source capsules is inconvenient, they can be taken before bedtime instead. It is also fine to take three Myristin® Veg Source at breakfast and three at dinner if that fits better with your daily schedule.
Initial Loading Course and Maintenance Course
Six bottles of Myristin® Veg Source are required for initial loading use. EHP offers special prices for customers who order all six Myristin Veg Source in one order via the internet or toll free phone order. Although Myristin® Veg Source CMO is more expensive to produce per gram of CMO due to the long production supply line which starts in Africa, EHP is making Myristin® Veg Source available on a price-competitive basis.
A maintenance course of Myristin Veg Source is three Myristin Veg Source capsules taken daily.
Special Information for Customers with Allergy to Nuts
Myristin® Veg Source is made using Kombo butter, which is derived from the seeds of the nut of the Myristica Angolensis tree. This tree is widely distributed in Gabon, Congo, Angola, and Nigeria in central and western Africa. The tree is also known botanically as Pycnanthus Kombo. Though it is from a nut source, Kombo butter as used in the production of Myristin® Veg Source is classified under FDA rules and regulations as “highly refined” and is not required to carry a warning about nut allergy. EHP Products prefers to err on the side of an abundance of caution and advise customers with nut allergy to use caution in consuming Myristin® Veg Source or even to avoid it in the case of those who have had severe reactions to nuts. It is suggested that customers with even mild allergy to nuts start with one Myristin® Veg Source capsule only to test for any allergy concern. If no problem, then increase gradually to recommended daily amount.
Certificate of Analysis
Consumers must be cautious in order not to be misled by exaggerated or confusing claims of the amount of CMO per capsule or softgel. The 378 mg of cetylated fatty acids oil in each Myristin® Veg Source, yielding 67.3 mg of CMO, is the most in the world in a vegetable CMO product. Some websites or product labels that claim large quantities of cetyl myristoleate, such as actual websites which claim 380 mg or 500 mg of CMO, are misleading, since the cited quantity is the amount of mixed cetyl esters, not actual cetyl myristoleate.
EHP displays the certificate of analysis from our capsule manufacturer to assure the consumer of the integrity of Myristin® Veg Source capsules. Vita-Herb is a pharmaceutical standards manufacturer, which means that the company adheres to the high manufacturing standards practices required by the U. S. Food and Drug Administration for an OTC drug manufacturing license. Vita-Herb tests all raw materials for compliance with product specifications and rejects any which do not comply.
Labeling Myristin® Veg Source
Myristin® Veg Source is labeled in accordance with FDA labeling regulations. We list on the label the exact amounts of cetylated fatty acids and cetyl myristoleate (17.8%) in the serving size of two capsules. If the label of a competitive CMO product does not comply with FDA label regulations, it is difficult if not impossible for the consumer to know the CMO content. For example, one purported vegetable CMO product warns of a nut allergy in its vegetable CMO product and states “palm nut”. There is no myristoleic acid in palm nut, and therefore the product does not contain cetyl Myristoleate if it is made from palm nut. Another website for a vegetable CMO product lists its product as CM Complex Cetyl Myristoleate 500 mg. This product may have 500 mg cetylated fatty acids in olive oil, but it does not have 500 mg cetyl Myristoleate. Careful reading of the label information does not reveal the actual amount of CMO. EHP believes that customers are entitled to know exactly what they are buying and labels Myristin® Veg Source capsules in accordance with that belief.
Being Cautious
If the label or website does not state the exact amount of cetyl myristoleate and the other significant cetyl esters, such as cetyl myristate, cetyl oleate, and so forth; or, if you call the distributors and they cannot or will not tell you the per cent of cetyl myristoleate in the mixture of cetyl esters; or, if there is not even a phone number where you can ask someone, BEWARE, for you may not be getting the CMO bargain you think you are getting. You can always count on EHP for quality and integrity when it comes to buying CMO.
